Fiber Optics Network at CERN

This week the CERN Bulletin had an interesting article about the fiber optic network at CERN.

Fiber optics have been deployed at CERN for the last 32 years. When first installed for the SPS accelerator between the Meyrin and the Prevessin site it was the longest optical fiber in Europe.

Currently CERN have 35 000 kilometer optical fiber in its network. Fairly impressive! For the full article click the link below.
