This book continues the story of the human race expanding out into the stars discovering that all other races have adopted the philosophy that survival means that any other race has to be destroyed. The moral “Uberrace” that calls themselves the Humans of course sets out to change this. But then, are we Humans or Jenze? I guess you have to read the books to see where the author goes with that element of the story.
Yes you would be right in saying that this story is perhaps a bit simplistic “the-good-guys-always-win” style of work but it is still a quite fun read. The childish enthusiasm and fairly simple plot is a refreshing change of pace from heavier works.
The frequent space battles and fleet operations certainly add to the joy of reading this book. My only gripe is of course that it’s, again, a fairly short read easily finished in a day or two. A book from many other authors would be twice the size. But them some other authors of course bloat down their books with endless dialogs and story fillers that’s doesn’t really add to the reading experience, at least not in a positive way.
