Christmas candy and pickled herring

The annual making of Christmas candyNo, not really at the same time. However today my dear wife pickled the traditional Christmas herring and we also made the Christmas Candy.

Actually my wife and the two younger kids have already made some of the Christmas candy last Wednesday (younger kids normally do not go to school on Wednesdays in France) but obviously I was at work then so I couldn’t take any pictures.

The annual making of Christmas candyToday they made the chocolate dipped marzipan candy. That’s the classical one. If we could only make one kind of candy for Christmas that’s probably the one that would be made.

This years pickled Christmas herringThe Swedish pickled Christmas herring is also a must have for Christmas. If we couldn’t get that the world could indeed just as well have ended yesterday as some weirdoes seemed to believe it would.
