As I wrote in my previous post last Friday we planned to go out for a “birthday” lunch yesterday and we did indeed do as planned.
The restaurant chosen for our little outing was Le Rectiligne in Divonnes-les-Bains. It was the first time we visited this place. Actually, it has not been around that long. Bodil thinks they opened only 2 or 3 years ago. However, the “patron” has worked as chef for another restaurant in Ferney Voltaire for 7 years before opening his own restaurant.
It was a quite pleasant experience. The food was French “haut cuisine” and very tasty. It was also the first time in a very long time that the entire staff managed to get all the small details, like serving from the correct side, right all the time. Even the otherwise posh restaurants around here seems to forget such attention to detail these days. Very pleasant and somewhat impressive.
A nice Saturday lunch indeed.
