Latest garden project - Redoing the flowerbeed in front of the dining room windowThis morning we went to Val Thoiry so that JJ and Tim could get some presents for Cassandra’s birthday. We, or at least I, were hoping to go to Bellegarde as well to pick up one of JJ’s school books that we have on order but sadly enough it had not yet arrived. I would really have liked to take my new car for a tour on those mountain roads.

Anyway, this afternoon I started to redo the flower bed in front of our dining room window. That is where the stones that I wrote about in my previous post are going by the way. I started to rip up the old bushes with my spirit high thinking this would be a quick one. After all it was only a few bushes not more than a meter and a half high.

Well two hours later and quite a few rude words the last one finally gave up and came out. By that time I had brought out quite a few of my digging, hacking and mutilating tools from my basement. I stopped short of the chainsaw (and the hockey mask ).

Latest garden project - Redoing the flowerbeed in front of the dining room windowWhile removing the bushes I found that the piece of the wall that the bushes covered apparently was a popular spot for the garden snails. Sorry snails but I want to redo this flower bed and it is my house so your vote do not count.

Hopefully the weather will be okay next week so that I can star to lay the foundation for the low garden wall that I want to build around the flower bed.
