This being one of the traditional holidays the food is somewhat pre-decided. At least for the Easter Saturday lunch. So, as tradition bids we brought out the pickled herring, smoked eel, Swedish cheeses, elk sausages, gravlax and, of course, the eggs.
Unfortunately we had to resort to the rather mediocre factory made herring that we can buy at Ikea nowadays. It is only at Christmas time that we can get the real stuff to pickle ourselves and ever since some dumbass bean counter at Ikea decided that everything in their shop should be their own generic brand quality have gone to hell.
Well as a hole it was not at all bad and both the bread and the Gravlax was homemade.
